Subject knowledge is the hallmark of The
Medical Translation Center’s work.
Product Literature and A/V Based on LSI’s 38 years of translating
promotional material, manuals, videos, instructions for use, labels, MSDSs, and other material, the Center is the medical industry’s
finest source for language conversion of literature and A/V that is
culturally adapted for foreign markets. Working in all common
formats and national languages, the Center offers a complete turnkey
package service for advertising, training, packaging, databases,
Websites, and information. Whether the need is a single language or
twenty, the Center will deliver on a timely basis the consistent
quality your market demands and you expect from this resource.
Regulatory Submissions and Clinical Trials
Government agencies generally require
submissions to be prepared in their national language. When clinical
trials are conducted in another country and records exist only in a
different language, the data to be submitted must be accurately
translated. And it must be done in a timely way to avoid missing
critical deadlines. Legibility of handwritten entries often becomes
a significant factor.
The Medical Translation Center has the
technical expertise and native target language translators to ensure
that these vital records, including all handwritten entries, are
completely translated with careful proofreading for 100% accuracy.
Formatting is preserved to replicate the original documents, and a
memory tool is used to capture repeat translation, which may be as
much as thousands of pages for large volume documentation. The
workload is shared by a production team that is always adequate to
meet deadlines. When records are confidential and cannot be removed
from the medical site of the trials, the Center will provide an
on-site team insofar as feasible. On-site work is always more
expensive, but sometimes it is desirable to clarify issues through
discussion with the client’s professionals.
Intellectual Property
The Medical Translation Center provides
patent translations prepared by experts who have many years of
working in this specialized field. Principal languages are French,
German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish, although Dutch, Portuguese,
the Scandinavian languages, and many others are also available.
Accuracy with correct terminology is paramount, and the technical
knowledge of the translator is key. Generally, translators have
degrees in the subject field, and the Center assigns the work to the
appropriate translator who has the technical knowledge to understand
the particular patent and choose the correct terminology.
The Center can also support litigation
requirements, which sometimes demand translation of large volumes of
documentation within a short time period. Using a unique approach of
combining machine translation with human translation, the Center
makes it possible for the client to quickly retrieve relevant
material by using his own language and get it accurately translated
in the most efficient and low cost manner possible. Based on
software, the system improves the gathering of useful information,
yet saves time and actually costs less than traditional manual
approaches for managing foreign documentation.
Journal Articles
The Center has several hundred scientist and
engineer translators who have the subject expertise to produce exact
translations of journal articles, whether it be for research
information gathering or distribution to a foreign audience. The
Center provides journal article translations camera-ready for
prestigious medical publishers for pharmaceuticals, surgical
procedures, and epidemiological studies.
On-site Interpreting The Medical Translation Center provides
interpreting in over 80 languages. This service is available for
one-on-one sessions with a hospital patient, group meetings with
foreign visitors, or an international meeting where many languages
may be needed. The Center has consecutive interpreters for sessions
that are less time critical, and simultaneous interpreters with
wireless electronic equipment for conferences with formal
proceedings that must have real time interpreting for effective
presentation. Based on Linguistic System’s experience of many
thousands of interpreting assignments, you can be sure that the
assigned interpreter will have the medical and language expertise to
facilitate accurate communication.
Select Translation Service™ For the most advanced fast turnaround
service, The Medical Translation Center offers a Web-based online
translation service that is accessed from an organization’s intranet
and is the ultimate service for responding to an immediate need for
translation of any foreign document, whether it is a report, a
journal article,
a memo, or an e-mail. Instantaneous machine
translation is available into or from Arabic, French, German,
Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian, Chinese,
Japanese, and Korean. The MT user can then return for low or high
level human edit of the MT, or human translation of the source
material without reference to the MT. Turnaround is measured in
hours, not days, and instantaneous pricing and delivery time are
quoted for each translation at the outset. The service is provided
at very modest fees on an annual contract basis. Contact the Center
for more information about this unique service –
marketing@linguist.com.
Notarized Certification Submission to a government agency or court
may require a certification of the translation. This is provided
routinely by the Center upon request. Generally, the certificate is
notarized and riveted to the translation and a copy of the source
document.
Charges and Turnaround Time Due to the custom nature of the work, the
fees and delivery time are quoted on an individual job basis after
we have received the complete material or a representative sample.
The offer is always competitive, as evidenced by the more than
85,000 assignments LSI has completed since 1967. In addition,
members of sponsoring organizations receive a special 10% discount.
But the main advantage is performance – the expert quality and
prompt delivery are the most important reasons to use the
specialized services of The Medical Translation Service.
